What is "Upfitting?"

Upfitting is remodeling and renovating your home so you can live in your home safely, independently and comfortably, regardless of age or ability level. Many seniors will face some type of impairment or disability such as a stroke or heart attack. Some will have permanent impairment while others may only face a recovery period. Nursing homes and assisted living facilities are expensive, and given the choice, most of us would like to live out our lives in our own home. This is called "aging in place" and it has become so popular it is now a technological field.
